Residents in a northside Springs neighborhood chased off two vehicle burglars early Monday morning, according to police.
They later found a third suspect, a woman, left behind at the scene, and detained her until police could arrive.
The two burglary suspects set off a silent alarm while prowling the 3100 block of Deliverance, near North Union and Woodmen. They left the woman sitting in a SUV after running away from the scene. Police located stolen tools inside the SUV, but at this time have not charged the woman. It appears only one car was broken into.
A male suspect was found hiding behind a tree on Lange Circle, half a mile from the scene. Police say the suspect, identified as 31-year-old Timothy Capaul, admitted to taking part in the burglary, and was arrested. He has been charged with aggravated motor vehicle theft, burglary of a motor vehicle, possession of burglary tools, and conspiracy.
Capaul named his alleged accomplice, 35-year-old Charles Salic, who will face the same charges once arrested. Anyone who knows of Salic's whereabouts is asked to call police, or call Crime Stoppers at 634-STOP to remain anonymous.
