Police are looking for two men who apparently broke out the window of a car at a Loaf-N-Jug store. While they were trying to steal items from inside, the victims came out of the store and confronted them. One of the suspects then pulled out a gun, and fired a shot into the air, before taking off.

It happened just before 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Loaf-N-Jug on the corner of Airport and Murray (4335 Airport Rd.) on the southeast side of Colorado Springs.

The suspects also ripped off the front door handle of the car before getting away in a silver-color sedan. They also got away with the victim's purse. No one was injured.

Both suspects are described as Hispanic, in their 20's. One had dark hair, a mustache and was wearing a white shirt.

If you know anything about the theft, call Crime Stoppers at 634-STOP in Colorado Springs. Your anonymous tip could earn you a cash reward.

FYI the word "Ghetto" is from Germany, used to describe the housing of the Jews in particular neighborhoods. So, you must becareful how you use words you dont understand.

Combat Zone? Bronx? Bronx is worse and Combat Zone even worse...I have not seen Ghetto in Colorado Springs yet. Just be aware of your surroundings people and you won't run into problems. There is a saying that nothing good happens after midnight. If you read the news everyday and know that stuff happens in a neighborhood after sunset then don't expose yourself. I've been leaving in the area for a while now and never had any issues "Knock on wood"

Mulligans Pits- Its attitudes like yours that stops anyone from stepping forward. Anyone at anytime can make a difference. Nothing is impossible or out of reach. Like I said, I never go to that one. I go to the one that is up the street towards Powers where I live. And before you make a rude comment to that, I live across from the trailer park in the Sandcreek Houses. We can make a stand and change things, no matter how bad they appear to be. Negative attitudes only give you negative results.

I agree w/ you George- that whole area is bad. It's starting to resemble the Bronx in the late '80's. They need a LOT more LE involvement in the area, but by now it's probably too late to get it back under control no matter what they do.

Ya that part of town is a combat zone anyway.

Well let's make sure the city council shuts off more street lights! Oh and by way, they also only enforce traffic offenses. Everything else just cost money, unless you live in the right neighborhood. No police that care, no street lights, no bus service, if your poor in Colorado Springs, you know from "that" neighborhood your out of luck.............
