Police are seeking the public's help in finding a man wanted for holding up a local grocery store in the middle of the day.
The man reportedly pulled a gun on a clerk in the customer service area of the North Circle and Galley Safeway, threatening to shoot her if she didn't give him cash. The suspect was given an unknown amount of money, then he fled the store in a southbound direction. He was last seen running through the neighborhood just south of Galley Road.
The Safeway is located on 1121 N. Circle.
The suspect has been described as a muscular African American male, approximately 30 years of age, 6-foot-3 and weighing 210-220 pounds. He was wearing jeans, a black jacket and a gray hooded sweatshirt.
Anyone with information on this robbery is asked to contact the Colorado Springs Police Department, or call Crime Stoppers at 634-STOP to remain anonymous.
