A few minutes was all it took for three crooks to rob a restaurant, slip out and escape police.

Police received a call just after 1 a.m. Wednesday about an ongoing robbery at a Denny's on the 300 block of North Academy in Colorado Springs. Officers arrived within two minutes, but the suspects were already gone.

According to people inside the restaurant, after the suspects walked into the diner, they split up. One suspect aimed a gun at a customer, while a second suspect went straight to the cash register and helped himself to an unknown amount of money. Then the three men left.

Police K-9s searched the area, but were unable to track them down.

At this time, no suspect descriptions have been provided.
