The owner of Sun's Ultimate Hair Salon says she's still traumatized after being tied up with duct tape and robbed at gun point Tuesday.
Outside her salon, shades cover the windows. The sign in the window says open. On the inside, however, it's back to business, sort of. Sun, the owner of the salon asked 11 News not to release her last name. While she works on several clients at once she still relives her frightening morning.
"They said, this is serious, we're not kidding," Sun said. She tells 11 News the robbery started when a man and a woman went into the shop asking about prices. "I thought it's never going to happen to me,” she said.
They pair left, but minutes later, the man returned. This time he came back with another man and a gun.
"Who is going to rob me in bright daylight," Sun thought before she was robbed.
Sun and her customer were duct taped and forced into the back room. It was then that the crooks grabbed keys from the counter and ran from the salon.
Once outside, with keys in hand, the crooks stole the client's SUV as their get-away car.
When the crooks left, Sun tried to check on her client. "Are you okay, are you okay? And she didn't answer," Sun said. She heard the thieves arguing outside her door, then they came back in again. They shoved Sun into the bathroom. Her customer was still tied up in the backroom.
"I'm only doing this [interview] because it was really really hard,” Sun said. “I don't want anybody to get through it."
Sun said she wants other business owners to be extra careful. "Just watch what you're doing always, and lock the door if you can," she said.
In addition to the SUV, the crooks got away with Sun's purse, including her cell phone, identification and social security card.
Both victims only suffered minor cuts and bruises. The only information police have on these two crooks is that they're two Hispanic men in their 20's.
