Woman's Purse Stolen From Bench on Pueblo Riverwalk

Pueblo police is asking for the public's help to find a purse-snatcher and ID thief in Pueblo.

Police say Julia Zaya reported her purse stolen on April 28 at the Riverwalk. Julia says it was around 1:30 p.m. when she set her purse down on the bench. After getting up and walking away she realized she had not picked up her purse. She went back to the bench but it was too late.

The purse had all of Julia's personal information including several credit cards and checkbook. It wasn't until a week later that Julia realized several checks had been written at local Loaf & Jugs stores on April 29 and April 30.

Surveillance videos shows a woman cashing the checks and using the victim's stolen ID. The suspect appears to be in her twenties or thirties with long thick black hair wearing a red hoodie type sweatshirt with a large white logo on the back, possibly the lady of Guadalupe.

If you have any information on the identity of this female you are urged to call Pueblo Crime Stoppers @ 542-STOP (542-7867). Your information could earn you a cash reward.
