Colorado Springs Police are busy trying to find out why three men were shot outside of a bar on the south east side early Saturday morning.
The triple shooting happened at the Golden Cue bar just after 2 a.m. but detectives are still looking for answers.
What's usually a quiet holiday for police, kept many officers busy the morning after Christmas.
"Once in a while you do have incidents on Christmas because people are out and about. But normally Christmas is a fairly calm time, especially Christmas day itself," says Lt. Mark Smith of the Colorado Springs Police Department.
This after a fight broke out in the parking lot of the Golden Cue Bar and Pool Hall. "Our initial investigation revealed that, apparently at closing time, a large crowd gathered in the parking lot and a fight of some type broke out and during that time there were shots fired among people involved in that crowd," says Lt. Smith.
Three men, two of them 18, the other 21, were hit. Police officers worked through the night into the morning hours looking for clues.
"The scene was fairly extensive out there so we wanted to wait until sunlight came out so we could process that scene effectively so it was several hours," says Lt. Smith.
There are still many unanswered questions. "And primarily interviews with people and follow up with medical staff, so yeah, there are a lot of unanswered questions. We are very early in the investigation and I am sure it will be going on for quite some time," says Lt. Smith.
The victims in this case are recovering and in stable condition. Police are still working on finding the suspects.
