Gunfire erupts in another armed robbery in Colorado Springs. Police say they believe the suspects have struck before. It happened Friday night at the Kohl's on Janitell Road, a few blocks east of I-25 and Circle.
Police say shoppers were still inside when three men burst in waving a gun.
"My aunt was in there," said Katrina Sandoval.
She says her Aunt Jamie saw men in masks walk in and that was about it.
"She ran and hid in the dressing room right away," said Sandoval.
Police say the three suspects demanded cash, and took jewelry from display cases they smashed. On their way out, one fired a shot into the ceiling.
"I am aware of a pattern of the same description of males committing these kinds of robberies," said Sergeant Joel Kern with the Colorado Springs Police Department.
Sgt. Kern believes the same men pulled a mid day robbery at the Starbucks near Woodmen and North Academy nine days ago.
"It's worrisome when they commit a robbery and fire a shot inside. Obviously they're escalating in their violence and we don't want anyone being hurt," said Kern.
The men got away Friday night as the search continued leaving police empty handed, and a pattern of robberies unsolved.
Police are looking for the three men, but have only limited descriptions to go on. The suspects are described as two African American men about thirty years old and one white or Hispanic man in his mid twenties, all wear bandanas over their faces and are about six feet tall.
