The victim of a sexual assault is reaching out to ask for any help to bring in her attacker. She tells 11 News she was attacked early Sunday morning on the southeast side of Colorado Springs on Murray Boulevard near Airport Road.
By day Murray Boulevard is a neighborhood street with only occasional breaks in traffic. At times at night, it can be a lonely place.
"I don't think I've ever been so scared in my life," said a woman identified only as “Casey.”
Casey said an argument with friends left her walking home along Murray around 3am last Sunday.
She suddenly had the unwelcome company of a complete stranger.
"He said, what are you doing out so late walking?" said Casey.
After a few words he put his arm around her neck, and pushed her into a large field nearby.
"He said, I have a gun in my pocket and if you don't shut up, I'm going to kill you," Casey said.
Casey told police the man raped her and left her in the tall grass. Even then, she wasn't completely alone.
"As I stood up, I saw two cars pass by," she said.
She hopes a passer-by might help calm what is now one of her deepest fears.
"It scares me to death to think that nobody is ever going to find him and that he will never, I will never be brought justice for what happened to me," she said.
Colorado Springs police have released a description of the man suspected in the attack. They report he is an African American man, about 30 years old, likely driving a white Jeep Cherokee
