Pueblo Police need your help in identifying this suspect.

According to Pueblo Det. Glenn Fillmore, police were dispatched to a shooting on 8/30/09 at around 10:10 p.m. to the 1100 block of E. Orman Ave. When police got there they found a 42-year-old man shot in the stomach.

Police have so far figured out that Miguel Angel Acosta, the victim, and his wife had just returned home after being out all day at horse races. That's when they were confronted by two men carrying guns. Mrs. Acosta described the two gunmen as Mexican nationals in their late teens to early 20's. She said they were both thin, both about 5'7" tall and weighing 160 lbs each. Mrs. Acosta said both spoke only Spanish.

Mrs. Acosta said one man was carrying a sawed off shotgun and the other had a handgun.

Mrs. Acosta said the suspects approached Mr. Acosta, words were exchanged and a struggle ensued. That's when one of the men fired two shots, striking Mr. Acosta once in the stomach.

The suspect tried shooting Mr. Acosta again, however the gun did not go off the second time.

When Mr. Acosta fell to the ground the suspects reached into Mr. Acosta's pockets and took money out of his wallet before getting into a silver SUV, possibly a Suburban, and left the scene.

Mr. Acosta was transported to the hospital where he remains in critical condition.

The sketch, according to police, depicts the male responsible for shooting Mr. Acosta.

If you have any information on this shooting you are urged to call Pueblo Crime Stoppers at 542-STOP.
