A man was stabbed multiple times in the leg by someone inside his apartment. The victim, 36-year-old George Hachmeister, tells police he did not know the person.

Just before 1:00am Sunday morning Colorado Springs Police Officers responded to the Shannon Glen Apartments at 210 N Murray Blvd for a call regarding a loud disturbance and possible stabbing. When officers arrived they found Hachmeister with two stab wounds.

"The victim is stating that he does not know who stabbed him," said Sgt. Chris Newton with the Colorado Springs Police. "And apparently when we arrived, both the suspect and many of the witnesses to the situation had already left the area."

Hachmeister was taken to Memorial Hospital where he is listed in fair condition. Police say he has severe stab wounds to his upper and lower left leg. As a result, he may have to have his left leg amputated.

The suspect, along with other witnesses, left the area prior to police arriving on scene. Colorado Springs Police Air One was involved in the search for suspects.

Hachmeister is expected to survive his injuries. Police report that while Hachmeister had not been drinking, other parties involved with the disturbance had been drinking.

If you have information that may help police, call Crime Stoppers at 634-STOP.

If someone I didn't was in my house and the dog don't bite him, the owner will shoot him. This is why we as Americans need to retain the right to bear arms. To protect ourselves.

What the ____ is wrong with people these days, I mean come on what is going on in this state? I bet we all know the reason we just fear saying it due to the fact we might be judged by others. what makes an individual stab a person they dont even know? I can guarantee that if the "stabber" got Stabbed he would cry like a little baby because her had never been stabbed before. Bet that would prevent him from stabbing anyone again...
