A man was stabbed multiple times in the leg by someone inside his apartment. The victim, 36-year-old George Hachmeister, tells police he did not know the person.
Just before 1:00am Sunday morning Colorado Springs Police Officers responded to the Shannon Glen Apartments at 210 N Murray Blvd for a call regarding a loud disturbance and possible stabbing. When officers arrived they found Hachmeister with two stab wounds.
"The victim is stating that he does not know who stabbed him," said Sgt. Chris Newton with the Colorado Springs Police. "And apparently when we arrived, both the suspect and many of the witnesses to the situation had already left the area."
Hachmeister was taken to Memorial Hospital where he is listed in fair condition. Police say he has severe stab wounds to his upper and lower left leg. As a result, he may have to have his left leg amputated.
The suspect, along with other witnesses, left the area prior to police arriving on scene. Colorado Springs Police Air One was involved in the search for suspects.
Hachmeister is expected to survive his injuries. Police report that while Hachmeister had not been drinking, other parties involved with the disturbance had been drinking.
