A skull along with other skeletal remains were discovered. Now, Colorado Springs police are trying to figure out if they are connected with any of the missing persons cases in our community.
Workers for the Storm Water Enterprise found the bones along South Cheyenne Canyon Road, less than a half mile away from Seven Falls. They made the gruesome discovery during a routine clean-up of a storm drain at the base of North Cheyenne Canon.
Cops don’t know how long the remains have been there, but they say it could've been years.
"The skull that was recovered was in tact and the dental forensics will be used to help identify the person," said Springs Police Lt. David Whitlock.
Those forensics tests will also determine if it was a man or a woman. That identification process could take a few weeks.
