Fort Carson officials confirm the car Kristen McCartney was driving when she disappeared a week ago has been found.

Officials say the abandoned car of the missing 24-year-old Army wife, was found near Austin Bluffs Thursday night with the keys in the ignition. There was no evidence of foul play found in the car.

Neighbors told authorities the car had been abandoned in the neighborhood for 4-5 days.

Friday, Linda Carter, McCartney's mother, saw her daughter on surveillance video from a Colorado Springs liquor store. The video was taken Saturday at Stines and Vines near the intersection of Fillmore and Centennial. It shows Krissy getting out of the passenger side door. She walks in, buys a pack of cigarettes, and walks out. The surveillance video does not show who was in the driver's seat.

Investigators also told Linda her daughter's credit card was used at the Budget Host Inn at I-25 and Fillmore that same day. The motel does not have surveillance video showing whether it was actually Krissy using the card.

Now the Army is asking Krissy's husband in Iraq to cancel their credit cards in case someone other than Krissy is using them.

The Army says they are making this investigation a top priority, and Krissy's family says they will stay here until they find her.

Krissy's mother is also worried because her daughter has postpartum depression and has not taken her medication.

Kristen flew to Colorado Springs from Atlanta, where she had been staying with family while her husband was deployed, on January 12 to close up her apartment since her husband would be away for a year.

Her mom says she had been calling home several times a day to check on her 1-year-old daughter, who was staying with family. Then, on January 16- one week ago today- the calls stopped.

That's when the family frantically started looking for answers. The Army launched their official investigation on Tuesday when Kristen failed to show up for an Army appointment.

Her family told 11 News they weren't getting the answers they needed over the phone, so they drove from Atlanta to try and find her. Now, they are actively searching and working with authorities, desperately trying to find Kristen.

Kristen's husband, Evan McCartney, who is currently deployed in Iraq, is trying to get home to help search for his wife.

I have been Kristen's bestfriend for the better part of the last eight to nine years. All these people spouting off "she was doing something wrong" or "She was cheating on her husband" need to grow up. This is not some T.V. sitcom, this is real life and a real person with feelings. All of you who think that you can just sit there and positively finger exactly what happened, grow up; this is life, bad things happen. Kristen would never steal someone's car, nor cheat on her Husband, nor would she ever leave without knowing that her child was 100% taken care of. You people who sit here and read this story and come to your own conclusions without knowing anything about Kristy other than what has been televised or read here - go write a book, go watch some T.V., go use your imaginations productively and not immaturely by bashing an individual whom you will never know in any intimate detail... Having an opinion is great and all, but just to let you all know, YOU ARE DEAD WRONG. Grow Up!

Why aren't BIG, CLEAR, still photos of her being displayed, so people can get a MUCH better look at her face and try to help find her? The grainy video doesn't help much at all.
