The first was an attempted robbery were police say a man used a handgun at 4:05 p.m. at Conway's Red Top restaurant on E. Fillmore.
The man was described as being around 5'6", a Hispanic male in his early 20's. He demanded money from a server, but she said she didn't have any. He then fled the restaurant.
Shortly afterward around 4:30 p.m., there was a robbery at the Colorado National Bank on N. Nevada, just north of Fillmore. The robber did get away with an undisclosed amount of money from the bank.
Police say the suspect description was very similar to the Red Top robbery, but the clothing description was different. Police are looking into whether or not there is a connection between the two.
A third robbery happened shortly before 5 p.m. at the Popeyes restaurant on Fountain Blvd. There, a black male pointed a gun at a female worker, who was leaving with the bank deposit. He did get away with the money. He is described as being 5'11", 180 pounds and 20 to 25 years old.
