A noise outside a Springs man's apartment drew his curiosity, but offered a big surprise when he looked into it early Monday morning.
Springs police say the attempted robbery happened around 5:10 a.m. Monday at 2105 Delta Drive, an apartment located within the Whitney Young Apartment Complex.
The 21-year-old male victim was getting ready for work when he heard a noise outside of the sliding glass door of his apartment. When the victim opened the sliding door to look outside, an unknown male carrying a knife attempted to enter his apartment.
The victim was superficially cut on the face and abdomen as he closed the slider door, preventing the suspect from entering his apartment.
The suspect never fully entered the apartment, and no items were missing. The suspect was described as a Black male, approximately 6' tall, thin build, wearing a black long sleeve t-shirt, blue jeans and a black baseball type cap with white lettering on the cap.
The suspect was armed with a silver colored knife.
