Two People Dead After Reported Shooting In Colorado Springs

Police said both victims died of multiple gunshot wounds. The female victim has been identified as 18-year-old Amairany Cervantes of Colorado Springs. The identity of the male victim is not being released at this time pending notification of relatives.

Police said the man, believed to be about 20, died at the scene Friday night. And Cervantes died later at the hospital.

Some people who live in the neighborhood said they thought the couple were shot by someone in a sport utility vehicle. Others thought they may have gotten out of a car.

Conchita Quintanilla, who lives in an apartment across the street, said she hear six to eight rounds.

The deaths are the 10th and 11th homicides in Colorado Springs this year.

No arrests have been made.

Detectives are asking anyone with information in the deaths to call 444-7000, or Crime Stoppers at 634-STOP.

Don't worry everybody, if they get caught they will go through a lengthy trial which we all pay for, then maybe 10 years if were lucky. Eye for an eye!

I hope they find the creep or creeps that did this and hang them. There's no reason for someone do do this. Yes, we do need to speak up and watch out for one another. You people that live in that area need to put a stop to what is going on there. If you are afraid to defend your neighborhood then these little creeps will continue to do harm. Call the cops when you see something wrong.

I have had family live in the Parkside forever before the El Vecino apartments were thought of, it has changed but not in just the past year. I remember the killing at the Whitney Young aprtments when I was young now another recently. I remmeber walking those streets not scared then growing to know that i should be. You make your choices, keeping your mouth shut is not a choice it something you have no choice but to do..Some murderers wont come looking for you but you never know. I pray for the victims families for their loss but most of all for the suspect because he/she probly did it in the heat of anger, and regret what they did. I just hope that person does what is right.

I live right down the street from the shooting that happened and we thought at first it was just fire works. it sounded like a machine gun. I can't even let my kids play outside because its not safe anymore Igrew up in this area and it wasn't this bad when I was little. Its gone down hill so bad now.

Everyone knows that the Parkside had always been a bad hood for a long time now. If you don't live in it dont attepmt to now. It sad that they built all those nice new homes on Monterey and Circle and a nice school, but Carmel Midle School is horrible! I would rather my kids learn from PBS than go there. But besides my opinions ask most people Pikes Peak Park is bad and although I havent heard of to much happening there lately it will never change.

Does anyone think it had something to do with the stabbing at the flea market? Keep in mind retaliation? IDK just a thought.
