Springs police have arrested 29-year-old Anselmo Bonilla Barraza for first degree murder in connection with the death of 26-year-old Pola Yesenia Valenzuela.

Authorities found the body of 26-year-old Valenzuela after responding to a domestic disturbance call around 9:05 p.m. Colorado Springs police have determined that the cause of death was the result of asphyxiation due to strangulation, and the manner of death was ruled a homicide.

It happened at 4825 Astrozon Boulevard. Police say when they arrived on scene they found the body of the young Hispanic female along with her four children ages 9, 7, 6, and 9 months. Those children are now in the custody of the victim's mother.

Detectives with the violent crimes unit interviewed those possible witnesses for clues as to what happened.

Neighbors were shocked, they say the couple kept to themselves but always seemed happy.

"I'm in shock, they were such a great couple. Their kids played with my kids all the time," said Peggy Wheeler who lives next door.

I agree that absolutly no one has the right to take anothers life. God is the only one who should make this disicion. this couple may have had more prob. than anyone knew of, but for ppl to be arguing here is just silly, whoever you are your words here will not change anything that has happened, and your absolulty right this man will eventually pay for what he has done. By both God and his child who will know what he has done to her mother. All of my prayers are going to be with the children, because they are the ppl who will be needing them.

I am saddened from the loss of my cousin. We will all miss her dearly. My prayers are with "all" my family & her friends and I pray that we can all get through this tremendous loss. I'm sure we all know that this lifetime is only temporally but God has his plan for everything & sometimes that hard to accept. I just Thank God for blessing us with her presence in this life. Although we may never understand somethings there is always a bigger plan he has for us all. I know your in a better place cuz & may God wrap his everlasting love around you & welcome you to his/your kingdom. I'll see you when I get there. Love you forever. PS. Tell Grandma & Tio Chuy Hi for me & that I miss them "VERY" much. You will forever be in my heart. xoxoxo

To the person who said dont judge anyone until you know the story. Well it seems to me you are trying to say this man may have ahd the right to do what he did. We are not judging we simply say put this man away for life. We know God will be the only one to judge him but here on earth justice needs to be served until the day he dies then may God have mercy on his soul. Did you know this going ato happen because you make it seem as if Anselmo had a cause to do what he did. No one on earth has a cause to take a life of another person no matter how angry or stressed you feel.

You comment during a recent broadcast that the children were not injured is very misleading. You failed to take into account the mental anguish they have suffered living in a home rife with domestic violence. The children will suffer emotionally for the rest of their lives. I use KKTV as my primary television news provider, but please be more compassionate and enlightened. Just because these children did not suffer any visible "physical" harm (that we know of...who knows what their lives have been like)does not mean they..."did not suffer any injury..." Shame on you for not being more aware of their feelings.

My heart goes out to Pola's family, especially the children that will grow up without their mother. May God bless you. Rest in peace.

I would like to express my condolences to Pola's family and I am praying for her children. I met her a while back and she was a great person. She always seemed so involved with her children. I feel for her children and the pain they must be feeling at this time I can’t even imagine. No words will bring their mother back but please know there are people out here praying for them and the rest of the family. I am still in shock and can't comprehend why this happened to her.

My sister was a wonderful mother who's only mission in life was to provide for her children. She is loved by all of us her brothers and sisters and will be greatly missed. We do not understand how this man came into her life and are only now hearing about his prison record. How did this happen was he on parole could this have been prevented were there any signs. He should pay for the rest of his life and may God have mercy on his soul because we as her family can not ever forgive or forget. The precious person that he took from this world deserved so much better. Poala you are the light and protector of your children rest in peace.

Well if this state believed in putting these scumbags to death, maybe then people would think before they do things.
