Colorado Springs Police are looking for a suspect from an armed robbery at a Dollar Tree Store on Wednesday night.

Police were called out to the Dollar Tree at 865 N. Academy, just south of Galley, at 9:00p.m. Wednesday. According to police, a suspect walked in to the store, threatened a clerk with a gun, and walked away with some cash.

The suspect is described as a heavy-set Hispanic female. Witnesses say she was driving a blue Geo Metro.

Police say the suspect description matches that of several armed robberies that have happened in that area recently.

If you can help police track down the suspect, call Crime Stoppers at 634-STOP.

And according to the police blotter, this person has been caught, and she was responsible for 3 other recent robberies. Sounds like good police work to me.

Pikes Peak Avenus is indeed the official North/South divider. And believe it or not, Cascade Avenue is the East/West divider. Both of those obviously originated when the whole city was what we now call "downtown". The last time I checked (a few years ago) the actual geographic center of the city was near Academy and North Carefree Circle, but I think it's moved even further north and east since then.

I think Pikes Peak Ave (or St) is the divider.

The line splitting Academy into North and South is at Platte. Since it runs n/s, there is no west/eastl line.

That part of Academy is North? Where is the dividing East/West line? Time to thin out the herd.
