A report by a concerned citizen in Pueblo helps recover a stolen trailer from Rye. The Pueblo County Sheriff's Office says the phone call authorities received on Wednesday was about suspicious activity on Greenwood Ave. in Pueblo.
The witness reported seeing someone moving what they believed to be a wood splitter down the roadway. When officers started investigating, they realized that a trailer parked nearby, along the East side of Greenway Ave. was stolen off of a property in Rye, along with several other items. The trailer was valued at nearly $5,000.
“Through investigative efforts conducted by both agencies and the partnership with our citizens, we were able to return all of the items missing from this particular incident back to the owner,” said Sheriff Kirk M. Taylor.
The two men taken into custody are identified as Todd Ashmore, 40, and Randolph Graham, 47.
Both of them face felony charges for Theft by Receiving $1,000 to $20,000. They were booked into Pueblo County Jail.
The investigation is still ongoing and authorities expect more suspects will be identified.
