Colorado Springs police are investigating a robbery that happened outside the Mountain View Apartments Thursday night. That's in a neighborhood near S. Academy and Highway 115.

Police say a 53-year-old man had just arrived in the parking lot when two men approached him, said they had a knife, and demanded money.

The suspects beat the man up, and took his money, cell phone, and keys. Police say the suspects ran away when a citizen chased after them.

Officers responded with dogs to try and track the suspects' scent, but they were unable to find them.

The victim was taken to a hospital.

If you know anything about this crime, please call Crime Stoppers at 634-STOP. You don't have to give your name, and you could earn a cash reward.

Are we being punished for not voting a tax increase?

As usual there is enough blame to be placed on CSPD, the 911 disservice and except for the citizen that tried to help most of the people living in Colorado Springs that just dont want to get involved. Yeah, Ryan it happened in a neighborhood, whats your point besides the one on top of your head? The city of Colorado Springs waste our tax dollars and until they can spend tax dollars responsibly then yes tax increases will be voted down. The racist remarks made by the coward "Bernard" not his real name only helps to cause problems not solve them. I assume bernard is white, so look in the mirror bernie and you will see who forces some people of color to commit crime. Hopefully the man that was assaulted will recover and with some blind luck these animals are caught and put in a cage. If we do not start getting involved by reporting these crimes and quit thinking some one else will do it then this city will completely be taken over by the criminal element growing in Colorado Springs.

Bernard the dry cleaners called and your hood and cape are ready for pick up. Don't forget to pick up some gas and a 10 ft. Wooden cross to burn too. Pointing fingers and ignorance is not going to stop this problem. When the U.S. Government regardless of party affiliation decides to stop lining their own pockets and start working for the people again is really the only thing that is going to help right this ship we call a country.

ever since that issue with the cops being on "other calls" when a crazed gunman chase several cars with a shotgun firing out the window for fifteen minutes in the midst of the day, finally killing a few and himself while 911 was overloaded with cell calls from the firghtened kids giving play-by-play directions of where they were and he was, it is a known fact that the springs cops are posers and useless in a real situation. Now we find that the police dogs are just expensive pets for these chicken idiots. What ARE we paying good tax money for if cops cannot even do the simplest of tasks, like track fresh escapes?? Cardboard cops with photogenic smiles. I watched last nioght as it took three cruisers to write a ticket to someone who forgot to turn their headlights on when leaving a well lit area. THREE cruisers for such a mundane violation?? The dogs couldn't trail three running violators?? Why not just send them their checks at home??

"That's in an neighborhood..." (might want to fix that) Bottom line crime has increased and the police force is not large enough. That's what happens when the tax increase is voted no. Nuff said.
