Updated: 05/14/2013 - I'm still focused on meeting my goal of doing a pull-up. And I'm almost there! But I'm always getting this question:
Ford is making a dramatic mileage claim for its redesigned 2013 Ford Fusion Hybrid - 47 miles per gallon in the city, 47 on the highway and 47 combined.
But the Ford Fusion Hybrid didn't come close to that in Consumer Reports real-world mileage tests.
Rik Paul with Consumer Reports found, "We measured 35 miles per gallon in city driving, 41 highway and 39 overall. That's good fuel economy, but it's far short of 47 MPG that Ford is claiming." (super)
Consumer Reports' tests of the Ford C-Max found similar discrepancies in its fuel efficiency.
Consumer Reports notified Ford of its findings. Ford says it's heard from some drivers of the C-Max and Fusion Hybrids that they've gotten more than 47 miles per gallon and that driving styles and other factors can cause mileage to vary.
