Colorado Farm In Durango Recalls Barbeque Sauce

DENVER (AP) -- Honey barbeque sauce manufactured at a Colorado farm after Aug. 1 is being recalled for not including anchovies in its list of ingredients, leaving those with fish allergies at risk.

The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment warned consumers Wednesday to return or discard bottles of Honeyville Honey Barbeque Sauce manufactured by Honeyville Honey Farm in Durango.

The bottles were distributed from August 2011 to May 21, 2012, when an on-site inspection by the Food and Drug Administration revealed anchovies were contained in the Worcestershire sauce used in production.

The label for the finished product did not list anchovies as an ingredient.

The health department says people who have allergies to fish are at risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reactions if they consume the product.
