Colorado's congressional delegation is offering condolences to the families and soldiers affected by the shooting rampage at Fort Hood in Texas.
Michael Bennet, U.S. Senator for Colorado, said via e-mail Thursday, “My thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends of the victims of this senseless act of violence. An attack on any member of our military affects the entire community."
Bennet, a democrat, continued, “Though nothing will ever alleviate the pain caused by this terrible tragedy, we must work to find answers to why this happened and how we can help prevent incidents like this from ever happening again.”
U.S. Senator Mark Udall said he will press for answers as to how the shooting unfolded as a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee.
Senator Udall said, “The shootings at Fort Hood this afternoon were horrific and devastating. My thoughts and prayers are with the friends and family of the victims as well as the greater military community."
