University attorney Patrick O'Rourke plans to file for recovery of costs, including flying witnesses to and from Colorado. Denver District Judge Larry Naves would have to approve the reimbursement.

Naves ruled Tuesday against Churchill's bid to get his job back.

The ethnic studies professor was fired on plagiarism charges after the furor over his essay likening some Sept. 11 terrorist attack victims to a Nazi leader led to scrutiny of his work.
