BOULDER, Colo. (AP) -- A woman who conceived two children with a teenager was ordered to stay away from her children and was sentenced to 20 years of probation.

Prosecutors say 39-year-old Irene Gomez conceived the children with the boy when he was 13 and 16. He is no longer underage and asked a judge yesterday not to send Gomez to jail, saying their sexual relationship was consensual and that she was a good mother to their children.

Gomez plead guilty to attempted sexual assault and contributing to the delinquency of a minor as part of a plea agreement.

The Louisville woman cannot have contact with her children until she successfully completes a sex offender treatment.

Yeah I so Agree with you, the judicial system does not treat men and women equal. It shouldn't matter what the kid had to say they should have thrown the cuffs on her and thrown her in jail. She should also have to follow the same criteria that everyone else has to follow and not be able to be around ANY kids at all and have to register. Bet she won't have to do that. Let some pervert try to sleep with my kids and see how far they get.

Why can a woman commit statutory rape and get a slap on the wrist or less and men do serious jail time? What century do we live in?
