A new poll shows Barack Obama leading John McCain among Colorado voters by 5 percentage points.

The Quinnipiac University poll shows the likely Democratic presidential nominee with a 12 percent lead among independent voters in the state.

The poll focused on Colorado and three other states seen as battleground states this year: Michigan, Minnesota and Wisconsin.

The Quinnipiac poll was conducted in partnership with The Wall Street Journal and washingtonpost.com.

The poll could be accurate. Afterall, who wants high gas prices, an endless war, less police and fire, a failing economy, a weak dollar, etc. - you know, all the things we didn't have prior to the Bush administration.

I'm still waiting for Obama to release a genuine copy of his birth certificate, complete with state seal or stamp, a signature, and two horizontal folds resulting from it being mailed. For some reason, he's refusing to do so ........

lex, it was probably system error. Sometimes that happens. Long as there is no foul language - they will post it here no matter how controversial

I made a comment and it was not posted. I guess the truth hurts. I do not use foul language at all. When I see other articles posted with pretty bad stuff.

Do not believe all these polls. It is closer than you think. I will not vote for someone who is caught in so many lies.

What a bunch of horse patooky. Anyone buying into Obamas train of thought is a brain-washed Leftist, nothing more. A vote for obama is a vote for a weak, spineless shadow of a government. Think about it. Obama gets elected Pres., terrorists blow half the U.S.

Isn't it amazing how the media chooses to headline only the polls that represent their liberal or democrat point of view. These polls are performed in selected demographic areas and contact a couple of thousand people at most. Take a look at the AOL straw poll where over 200,000 people have responded from all over the country and you will see that John McCain leads as much as 30% in most states.
