Denver will disclose its policies for handling arrestees at its intake jail after a lawsuit triggered by concerns over potential arrests during the Democratic National Convention.

The American Civil Liberties Union announced the agreement Wednesday, saying the city did the right thing but that the ACLU was disappointed it had to sue for the disclosure.

City officials had refused to release the information, saying it would compromise security.

The ACLU also says the city denied its request to handle minor infractions by ticketing suspected offenders instead of arresting them.

The city agreed to turn over its jail procedure manual by June 25. The settlement also calls for the city to pay the ACLU $5,000 in attorney's fees.
