A teenager has died after she jumped or fell out of a moving vehicle Thursday afternoon.

The girl has been identified as 16-year-old Brooke Ann Olson, a sophomore at Air Academy High School. A District 20 spokesperson says Brooke had previously attended Pine Creek High School.

The incident happened around 3 p.m. Thursday on the northbound exit from I-25 to North Academy at the north end of Colorado Springs.

According to troopers, the driver told them the girl intentionally jumped from the car. State Patrol is still investigating exactly what happened: whether the girl did jump, if she was pushed, or if she somehow fell out of the vehicle. No one has been charged in the case.

D-20 says there will be counselors on hand at Air Academy Friday for students who knew Brooke.
