No. 1 Sand Creek edged No. 7 Cheyenne Mountain Friday night In a battle of 4A ranked teams. The Scorpions managed to turn up the tempo on offense down the stretch and the Indians of Cheyenne Mountain couldn't come up with the answer.

Also on Friday night, Coronado defeated Mitchell in boys basketball. On the girls side of things Sierra defeated Harrison.
