Reporter: AP

A man accused of threatening a Colorado lawmaker sponsoring gun-control bills has been suspended from his job as chief operating officer of an information technology firm.

Englewood-based SofTec Solutions Inc. said in a written statement Tuesday that it was shocked to learn of the allegations against Franklin Sain, who was arrested Friday on suspicion of harassment and attempting to influence a public official. Sain hasn't commented publicly on the allegations.

Denver police say Sain is suspected of sending emails, a voicemail and an anonymous letter threatening Democratic Rep. Rhonda Fields of Aurora.

SofTec Solutions Inc. says Sain has been suspended pending a company investigation. It says it is a minority-owned, small business that will not tolerate any racial, sexual, gender-based slurs or threats of violence by employees.
