Police: Teen Pulls Knife On Father To Protect Mother

An 18-year-old pulled on a knife on his father in an attempt to protect his mother during an argument, according to police.

Officers say the teen heard his parents fighting and went to see what was going on. He allegedly saw his father, Dickson Afoa, standing over his mother, swinging his arms at her. His mother was holding onto a baby.

The teen grabbed a knife and confronted his father, injuring Afoa's hand.

Afoa was arrested and charged with domestic violence harassment and child abuse. Police say the teen's actions were to protect his mother; he was not charged in the incident.
