Posted: 4:20 AM Jan 22, 2013
Reporter: AP
U.S. officials say three Americans were killed in last week's hostage standoff in Algeria, and seven Americans made it out safely.
The State Department says killed were Victor Lynn Lovelady and Frederick Buttacio, both from Texas, and American Gordon Lee Rowan.
The militants had offered to release Lovelady and Rowan in exchange for the freedom of two prominent terror suspects jail in the U.S.
The Obama administration rejected the offer outright.
