Penrose-St. Francis Health Services says due to the demand for influenza vaccinations, it has partnered with Walgreens to provide two additional clinics to offer free influenza vaccinations for members of our community. The vaccinations are for adults and children over the age of four-years-old, and the number of vaccines is limited to the supply available.

Wednesday, Jan 23, 11 a.m. -1 p.m.
Catholic Charities Marion House, 14 W. Bijou

Monday, Jan 28, 4 – 6 p.m.
Mercy’s Gate - 4285 N. Academy Blvd (Rocky Mountain Calvary Chapel)

Eligibility requirements include: uninsured/underinsured, those without vaccine coverage.

Flu Facts from the Centers for Disease Control:
• The seasonal flu vaccine protects against the three influenza viruses that research suggests will be most common.

• About two weeks after vaccination, antibodies that provide protection against the influenza viruses in the vaccine develop in the body.

• Certain people have a higher risk of developing flu-related complications, like pneumonia, if they contract the flu virus. Some of those people include: children younger than five-years-old, adults 65 years of age and older, pregnant women, and people who have certain medical conditions such as asthma, diabetes, and chronic lung disease.

• Flu Symptoms include: fever, cough, sore throat, runny nose, headaches, body aches, chills, fatigue, nausea, vomiting, and/or diarrhea.
