Posted: 5:19 AM Jan 25, 2013
Reporter: KKTV

A carjacking victim has his car back Friday morning, while one man is under arrest for the crime.

A second suspect remains at large.

According to police, the victim, a man in his 50s, was sitting in his pickup truck in the area of Fountain and Chelton just before 11 p.m. Thursday when two men approached and assaulted him. After forcing the victim out of his vehicle, one suspect drove off in the F-150, while the other left the area on foot.

Police soon spotted the suspect driving the stolen truck in the area of I-25 and Garden of the Gods and arrested him. The suspect reportedly struggled with officers briefly before being taken into custody. He will face charges of aggravated robbery, second-degree assault, felony menacing, and possession of a weapon by a previous offender. Police have identified him as 29-year-old Gene Hamilton.

Officers have not located the second suspect. No suspect description has been provided at this time.
