Woman Charged In Car Crash Death Of Colorado Springs Teacher

A woman who police say was behind the wheel during a deadly crash was drunk.
Ashley Brooks of Colorado Springs is facing vehicular homicide, driving under the influence of alcohol and other charges.
The crash happened January 13. Colorado State Troopers say the driver lost control while driving south on I-25. The car spun, rolled and came to rest near Baptist Rd.
The passenger in the car, Katherine Banzhaf, was killed. Banzhaf was a third grade teacher at Soaring Eagles Elementary School in District 2 in Colorado Springs.
