A 77-year-old woman in a motorized wheelchair was hit while trying to cross Austin Bluffs near Academy in Colorado springs.
It happened when the driver of a blue Dodge Durango turned west on to Austin Bluffs from a side street. The impact knocked the wheelchair over and pushed it along with the pedestrian approximately fifteen feet.
The wheelchair was stuck under the front bumper of the Durango. The pedestrian was transported to Penrose Main where she was being treated for a possible skull fracture.
The driver of the Durango was cited and released for Careless Driving Resulting in Injury.
