Violent History In Recent Years At U.S. Military Bases
While the shooting tragedy at Fort Hood is shocking, this is not the first case of violence to hit U.S. military bases.

It would be interesting to compare similar instances of violence on naval, air force and marine bases compared to army posts. Maybe the reporter is on to something, and soldiers do commit more violence. Wonder why that would be? More stress?

I agree with Army Wife...do not portray something that is not there. Obviously the Army and the Government learned absolutely nothing from Vietnam, if they had, then the Soldiers that have been deployed more than once to either country would be getting the help they so desperately need to deal with what they saw and possibly did over there. I have been deployed to both countries and it is not a pretty sight over there. Fortunately for me, I was not involved in any combat but I did lose friends. Do not be quick to blame the Soldiers. To Anonymous, if you have never served or been in the places and situations that approximately 95% of the Army Servicemen and Women have been to and in, then don't talk about something you know absolutely nothing about. And you can't believe EVERYTHING the media tells you. They only tell you what they want you to know half of the time. Too many Americans take for granted the freedoms they have because of the sacrifices of all Servicemembers.

A lack of guidlines on how to treat a soldier in distress. This basically means that the Army does not care. I just hope I'm not around when another soldier flys off the handle. It's only going to get worse Colorado Springs.

Lauri Martin should site her sources when stating soldiers did not recieve the help they needed. The murders that have happened in the military are still lower than the average population. LMartin should get as fired up about these incidents as those that happen more frequently in her city. The crime rate in the military is far lower than the city of Colorado Springs. The majority of soldiers are great men and women. Do not try and portray something here that is not the case.

Why does it always seem like these things happen with soldiers in the army?
