Dogs Helping Injured Soldiers Under Gov't Program
The next dose of treatment for some soldiers could come from an unlikely source: a service dog.

Army Specialist Cameron Briggs washes down a cocktail of prescription drugs every day for post-traumatic stress disorder and a brain injury he suffered when four roadside bombs rocked his Humvee in Iraq.

His next dose of treatment will come from an unlikely source: a purebred Golden Retriever.

A new Veterans Administration program adopts dogs from animal shelters, trains them and matches them with wounded warriors home from Iraq and Afghanistan to help with their recovery.

The program was formed after a Denver-based nonprofit called Freedom Service Dogs recently partnered with the VA.

Service Dogs doesn't charge its clients but relies on private donations and foundation grants.

This is such a spectacular cause. I discovered this campaign Freedom Service Dogs is doing and its a very clever idea. Check out their website helpgreendog.com and help out our Vets! I donated... Even every few dollars helps tremendously depending on how many people support the cause to change people in needs lives! We need more couples out there like Cameron and Harper, hehe its such an inspiring story.
