If Herring is truly suffering from PTSD, I'm sorry and I hope he gets the help he deserves. BUT, I believe that it is highly unusual for PTSD sufferers to plot out a meticulously detailed strategy to disappear and start a new life while AWOL. Shame. Shame. Shame. There are too many service people and their families who are dealing with real PTSD. To claim it because he changed his mind about honoring his obligation to serve is wrong at every level.
