Information from Fort Carson:

Fort Carson will open its gates to members of the Colorado Springs community for "Rocking in the Rockies," a free Independence Day celebration, to be held at Ironhorse Park, July 3 from 4-10 p.m.

Participants can enjoy a variety of family-oriented activities to include
big air jumpers for children, food vendors and musical entertainment from Ricky and the Radios and the Colorado Springs Philharmonic Orchestra. The evening will end with a fireworks display set to music provided by the Colorado Springs Philharmonic.

Visitors who do not have a military registration decal on their vehicles are asked to use gates 1, 4 and 20 beginning at 4 p.m. July 3. Gate 1 is Fort Carson's main gate and is located just off of State Highway 115. Gate 4, also referred to as the B Street gate, is accessible from South Academy Boulevard. Gate 20 is the closest access gate to the city of Fountain and is accessible from nearby Highway 85/87 and Interstate Highway 25.

All visitors must present a federal or state issued photo identification
card, vehicle registration, proof of insurance and be prepared for a vehicle search at the gate. In an effort to minimize traffic, visitors are highly encouraged to car pool.

Visitors will be directed to a parking area and ride a shuttle bus to
Ironhorse Park.
