A wave of Fort Carson soldiers are on their way to Iraq.

About 250 soldiers with the Second Brigade Combat Team, Fourth Infantry Division, said their last minute goodbyes and caught a few minutes of relaxation Wednesday before beginning a 12 month tour in Iraq.

There are about 3,800 soldiers in the unit, and a third of them have already deployed. Groups are expected to leave each day through mid-September.

For many of these soldiers, this is their second, third or fourth tour.

My brother is in that Brigade. I pray that each will do their duty and stay safe. I will also vote for McCain so you have a strong Commander in Chief.
