A congressional hearing was held in Colorado Springs on Friday to discuss the possibility of adding a Veterans Cemetery in Southern Colorado.

The hearing is being conducted by Congressman Doug Lamborn with the House Veterans Affairs Committee.

Lamborn and others have been pushing to get a VA Cemetery in El Paso County because of the large military presence.

Right now, the closest National Veterans Cemetery is Fort Logan in Denver. It is expected to reach capacity over the next 12 years.
