The Defense Department said Friday that two Fort Hood soldiers, including an officer, were killed when a roadside bomb exploded near their vehicle in Iraq.

A statement issued by the Pentagon identified the two soldiers killed Wednesday as 32-year-old Army Capt. Andrew R. Pearson of Billings, Mont., and 21-year-old Spc. Ronald J. Tucker of Fountain, Colo.

The statement said both were assigned to 1st Battalion, 22nd Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division from Fort Hood.
