Army Confirms Death Of Ft. Carson Soldier In Afghanistan
The Defense Department has confirmed the identity of a Ft. Carson soldier killed in Afghanistan. He is the 7th Ft. Carson soldier killed in action this week.

The Defense Department has confirmed the identity of a Ft. Carson soldier killed in Afghanistan. He is the 7th Ft. Carson soldier killed in action this week.

He's 34-year-old Staff Sgt. Casey J. Grochowiak, from southern California.

He and 24-year-old 2nd Lt. Mark A. Noziska of Papillon, Nebraska, and were attacked by an improvised bomb Monday in Malajat.

They were assigned to the 1st Battalion, 22nd Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division.

Five other soldiers from Fort Carson died in a separate attack Monday in Afghanistan.
