Prescription Drug Take Back Initiative On Saturday

On Saturday, April 28, 2012, the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) is coordinating a one-day collaborative effort with state and local law enforcement agencies to conduct a Prescription Drug Take Back Initiative. This is a statewide event and will provide an opportunity for the public to surrender pharmaceutical controlled substances and other medications to law enforcement for destruction.

The event will operate from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Colorado Springs Police Department is responsible for securing the collected drugs until the DEA has recovered them.

Tablets, capsules, and all other solid dosage units will be collected.

Items which CANNOT be accepted are: Needles & Sharps, Mercury {thermometers}, Oxygen containers, Chemotherapy/Radioactive substances, Pressurized canisters or Illicit Drugs.

Three locations have been set for collection:

705 S. NEVADA AVE. POLICE OPERATIONS CENTER
400 SECURITY BLVD. SECURITY FIRE STATION #1
3255 AKERS DRIVE HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE FACILITY {COUNTY DOT}

    No. I am entitled to my opinion & my previous comment was also constructive. Where as your opinion offered nothing constructive. If KKTV is willing to list locations in Colorado Springs, they should also list locations elsewhere in their coverage area. So, while I find myself feeling nothing but distain for your comment, there was not hatefulness in my previous comment for KKTV. I was only letting them know that once again, other towns in their coverage area were also interested in avalible resources.

    Since KKTV likes to leave out the people in their coverage area that do NOT live in Colorado Springs (like Pueblo), here is the website that you can find a location near you; https://www.deadiversion.usdoj.gov/NTBI/ntbi-pub.pub?_flowExecutionKey=_c6D4B7DE4-ECAB-5F07-0A57-7834EE22E02D_k978D783C-9DEC-6441-3A05-FA6E61E69CE4

    Just enter your zip code & it will give you a list of locations. Hope this helps some people

      In all the years I've been watching/reading KKTV, I've never seen them give any indication that they deliberately leave out people that aren't in Colorado Springs -- much less -like- doing so. Can't you just post your link without the arrogant hatefulness?
