Springs police are searching for a man they say carjacked a couple at gunpoint in their neighborhood overnight.

The carjacking happened at 8th st. and Oxford near Cheyenne Blvd. on the westside of Colorado Springs.

The couple says they were approached by a hispanic man around 40 years old who was wearing dark clothing. He used a gun to order them out of their 2006 black Saab and the suspect climbed in and drove away.

After a couple hours of investigation police say they managed to find the car a few blocks away on Pine Avenue. They tell 11 News the car looks like it was involved in an accident.

No arrests have been made in the case. Police say this is an odd case of circumstances. They are still investigating to find out exactly what happened.
