Light to moderate snow showers continue this Wednesday morning with cold temperatures to start the day. Roads are *very* icy and snow packed throughout southeast Colorado... so please allow extra time for the morning drive. Throughout the midday and afternoon, we'll keep the chance of some light, fine snow showers, but expecting minor accumulations through the day. Snow looks to finally push out this evening/overnight and our warm up begins. Head over to the "Weather' tab for a full look at the forecast.
A dangerous police chase ends with a violent crash just feet from a family's home.
The wreck happened at Deepgreen and Serendipity. That's near S. Carefree Cir. and Academy.
Police say the chase started just before 2 a.m. when they tried to pull over the suspect near North Academy and La Salle because their license plate came back as stolen.
When the officer tried to make the traffic stop the car sped off and the chase started.
It all came to an end when the suspect's car smashed into a pair of trees in the neighborhood just off of South Carefree Circle.
The driver tried to run after crashing the car. A woman who lives near where the accident happened said police used a stun gun to take down the suspect and arrest him.
Police arrested 39 year old Richard Davis. He was taken to the hospital, but is expected to be ok.
