Ever since Mr. Lou Valez stepped away from the department, our law enforcement has gone down hill. We have overworked officers and are understaffed Regarding current crime spree, if the police cannot protect the citizens, the citizens will have to protect themselves...end of story! I sure hope something unfortunate does not happen if the people have to start fearing the face(s) coming at them in the street...not a good, not at all.

To Pete: who's to say they don't live nearby? There are apartments, houses and buisness's all over the place. You must be a cop because your 'instincs' suck.

Another good reason for Concealed Carry, shoot-em up when they try to rob you. Same with home invasion, no reason to ever get robbed in your own home, wake up Colo Springs!

False or not-re-affirms when my son told me to not consider anything on the SE side of the Springs after I decided to retire here.

Something sounds fishy here. No vehicle involved. Five black males. Two with guns. And, from what I read in another report, the suspects were all dressed alike. We'll see how this plays out in the next few days. Remember the case of a woman at Kohl's on Powers being 'kidnapped' by a black male about 6 mos. ago? False report. I might be wrong about this last one, but my 'cop instincts' tell me something isn't right here.

Robberies, shootings, and carjackings almost daily now in the Springs. Looks like it's gonna be a long, hot summer, so be careful and alert out there as you try to enjoy it.
