Colorado Springs Police responded to a call at 3:40a.m. about a semi-truck that had rolled off I-25 Southbound at mile marker 140. When Colorado Springs Police and Fire Dept. crews arrived on scene, they found a semi truck car carrier that had rolled over into a drainage ditch along I-25.
The car carrier was carrying 10 new vehicles when it veered of the interstate, rolling over onto its right side. The accident shut down the two right lanes of southbound I-25 while crews investigated the scene.
Emergency crews reported that the driver of the semi was treated and released at the scene. Police tell KKTV that while drugs, alcohol or speed are not factors in the accident the driver was ticketed for careless driving.
I-25 Southbound is now fully open after crews have cleared the wreckage.
