AURORA, Colo. (AP) -- Aurora police are investigating the death of a man who was shot while riding in a car on Interstate 225.
Police say the man driving the car called police at about 2:40 a.m. Saturday to report that his friend had been shot by someone who pulled up next to them on the highway. Twenty-two-year-old Michael Hulburt died after being shot several times in his upper body.
Police say the car from where the shots were fired had tailed and flashed its lights at the car where Hulburt was in before the shooting. Police say the shooter was in a dark SUV with dark windows and headlights that were white and amber.
Police have not said why Hulburt was shot.
Authorities closed I-225 for a few hours early Saturday to collect evidence.
